Today we started our NAPLAN testing. Some of us were a little nervous but once we started we were a lot more relaxed. Today was language ( spelling, grammar and punctuation) as well as writing. Tomorrow we do reading and finish with maths ( numeracy) on Thursday.
Now we have done our first NAPLAN we know there is nothing to worry about!

Sophie The........... By Lara Bergen
Yesterday we finished reading the seventh book in a great series called Sophie The..... ( each book has a different description such as daredevil, awesome, snoop). We loved listening to each episode about this third grader ( like us) and all the funny things that happened to her as she changed her name to try to make herself sound more exciting than the ordinary person she thought she was, and how she tried to live up to that name!
We decided that we could come up with some new titles and ideas for another Sophie book. We are going to send some of our ideas to the author, Lara Bergen, and hopefully she might write one for us! Some of our titles were, Sophie The Heartbreaker, Sophie The Lonely, Sophie The Soldier, Sophie The Smart and Sophie The Magician.

Camden show constructions!
We have been looking at what makes our local show successful and what improvements we think the show can make. We designed a plan for our own show and today we used recyclable materials to build it. Have at look at some pictures of the construction process!
Stay tuned for the finished product!!!

Our creations!!
Earlier this term we had the opportunity to be like God by thinking up and creating our own creations. We then made these creatures out of clay and painted them in our chosen colours. Check out some pictures of our wonderful creatures!

Father Whitty visits us.
This morning we had a visit from Father Whitty. He comes to see us every few weeks and join us for our religion time. We had a chance to ask a lot of questions and had a good discussion about reconciliation. We learnt a lot about Father himself and about the church. We enjoy having Father come to visit.

Working together!
We have been investigating the positive effects of The Camden Show on our community. Today we started to design a persuasive poster to attract crowds to the show. We wanted to include persuasive language and popular attractions that we have discovered in our research. We worked together in pairs putting together our ideas to come up with the best poster!

Persuasive texts
During our English this term we have been learning about persuasive texts. Our learning has included:
A- alliteration
F - facts,
O- opinion,
R - rhetorical questions,
E - emotion,
S - statistics, and
T - the rule of three.
Now we are ready to respond to the statement on the class blog giving reasons for our beliefs “Reading books is better than watching TV!”
Think about your idea and post a comment including your argument with evidence.
